My roosters can fly over a 6 ft fence, they are multi-talented for sure. Thanks for the comment, I'll go check out Joyce's page as I am not familiar, but love connecting with chicken people! :)
I loved watching my chooks scratch around, meditative like watching fish … I miss my chooks. I always thanked them when l collected their eggs and loved how they would run to me and squat for a pat when l got home. I had to smile watching your clip of them here. My fairy tree is down and a pile of mulch … my chooks would soon scatter that around. I will get chooks again one day when l have stopped galavanting as much. 😊
How does it feel with the fairy tree down? Something with the moon today and this week feels like big endings and big beginnings. And, yes, they are fun to watch, how they turn their head when they are thinking as if to say, I think you're alright. :)
It feels barren without the tree and the magpies are upset because it was one of their sentry stations. I am sort of glad we are going into Winter, so the mulch can rest. I have laid cardboard to kill off some grass, so will plant a native area around where she was, perhaps thick with shrubs as well as a tree … a haven for our superb fairy wrens? Funny you say that about the moon 🌕, we are in a 9 year, which is endings and new beginnings … l am hoping the maniacal political upheaval is the last hurrah, so we humanity choose a shift into community with all sentient beings. I love watching and reading about your animals. Thanks for sharing them with us, and your compassion 🙏💜😊
I know that must be hard. Just this morning I was walking around noticing some new trees sprouting up around the property while the mulch pile in the video was from a trimming to my bradford pears. Trees certainly change the landscape of our lives. I know the magpies understand and will find haven nearby. I appreciate learning about your fairy tree.
The fairies are ok with it, l feel that 🧚🏽♂️😂. Australian magpies have such a small territory l still see them on their daily rounds when they are foraging. There are 2 large trees outside on the nature strip which they also use. When they took the tree down they asked whether l wanted to use her logs for fire and l said no, l had promised the tree she would nurture a new garden. She really was the star of my small yard (by rural standards … l am in town), so it is an opportunity for me to make a bird haven. 😊💚
I love this! We had chickens🐔 years ago living in the country when the kids were growing up & share your love of THE MAGESTIC FOWL!🩷
Do chickens fly?👀 Have you checked out @Joyce Vance she is a LOVER OF CHICKENS also & posts frequently about her coop!
🙏NAMASTE💜
