was a teen beginning in the 70’s, a time when women removed their bras and makeup… and their natural hippy side shined. I never used much of it, except for theater makeup, which was all the time except in the daytime. and I wore it for publicity presentations, and going out on the town.
I moved out to the country when I partially retired from touring and now I have nowhere to wear it. Out in the country there is no one to impress but the birds and butterflies! Lol!
Thanks. I hope there were nuggets in there for everyone who finds their way here....insights behind a woman's eyes. The 80's were something to remember, blue jeans, blue eye-shadow, heck, I even remember days where the sky was a beautiful blue canvas before being blanketed with white spider-webs...or maybe that was just a dream?
I don’t like the word ‘anti-aging’ in beauty products either. Loved your ‘age well cream’ idea and the ritual aspect you mentioned. It’s funny I’ve been making my own face cream by whipping ghee!😂 it’s delicious, I’m adding rose oil to it so it smells like roses, and it makes this heavenly body butter that you can put anywhere!
Absolutely awesome! I'll always play make up for ever...but the best I ve ever looked came in my 50 s and I changed my life and my need for daily war paint as well. I worked tirelessly making my "She Shed" out in the wilderness of my back yard. But everyday I would dress in my most fun clothes and Jewelry and straw cowboy type hat that is just sexy.I wear lotion blush and mascara and eye shadow. A touch of clean smelling perfume and We are off to slay the day. Sunshine..purpose and desculating stress movement..stretch...best make over ever! thank you for this glimpse into the make up controversy so to speak...riveting!!
Thank you so much for this thoughtful comment, it truly resonates with me and I love hearing about your playing and slaying in the feminine yearning of creating. I remember playing dress up as a little girl too, it is such a fond memory and there is something special about stepping into our mother's clothes and connecting in such innocent and profound ways.
Yes I so agree...and I remember well stepping into those 50's high heels..lipstick and Rouge from Granmas purse and her hat and Pearls..her Name in fact and she was! Thank you I can't tell you how perfectly aligned we are ...on many thing!
Blue-tiful! 💙👏
<3 thanks, love that!

Love it! Yes, my chickens don't care and I like it that way! The cats might prefer to look at me with a little mascara though, Haha!
While I'm fairly certain I was not the 'target audience' for this, I still enjoyed it 🙂
Sidebar? As a teenager of the 80s? I liked the blue eye-shadow on girls... just sayin'... 👀😉
