I agree with your thesis. So I'm wondering how come we still have zillion people being addicted like this to the Machine?

As a former drug addict I'm asking hard questions about how do we fix this? What is the antidote for this type of addiction?

The system isn't making it easy. It takes energy to constantly be opting out...I don't want the QR code menu, the prompt, the 14 layers of login "safety" protocols....but ultimately one by one we have to just clear away the digital clutter and become intentional with our time...it's very hard in a world where everyone expects immediate responses. Even meeting someone for a coffee and turning the phone off or leaving it in the car, tiny steps towards reclaiming our lives. The answer really is to look up, make eye contact, just be human, say no a lot more....

Yes totally agree, you may want to check out the substack of @Peco and his wife, they provide a lot of great tips how to get savvy with all these pop ups etc even how to go on a digital fast...
