The thing about writing is that you get do-overs or fresh starts
You can change the memory, you can re-write your part
You can use your words to heal up your heart
Where the intent of your words becomes your art
A scribe that includes a complete flow chart instead of living a-la-carte
What needs to be erased?
What needs to be concealed?
What can be re-written?
What is forever sealed?
What part of you has died?
What forever lives?
What are you creating?
How do those words feel?
How has your life transformed by the words that you write?
How do the words you speak influence your light?
We need not tuck away the pain that made us who we are
But some of those stories might be better turned to char
The element of fire can help transmute the patterns made
The element of air can fuel the fire, cleanse the pain
The element of water can bring nourishment and flow
The element of earth receives the soot, invites our feet to root in order to grow
Some things need to be transfigured, alchemized and set ablaze
Sometimes we must cremate the energy, invite the smoke to float into a haze
For the life we think we want, may not be what we need
And in order to see what is, we must release the fantasy
Let the elements inhabit us as to invite new life to breathe
The story you are writing no longer needs footnotes to be conceived
You are perceived differently by everyone you meet
They will never really know you, just pass by upon the street
So worry not for what never was, yet be curious and open
For what is meant to find you, will, this truth cannot be broken
Some things can burn away by simply expressing upon a page
Some things can be made free by taking a moment to re-frame
Some things can be healed by acknowledging its presence
Some things can be changed by choosing to see how it’s a present
Let the rain come
Let the fire burn
Let the air turn
Let the earth churn
Let the calm return
Circle ‘round to the beat of the season’s drum
