SURRENDER

You can only surrender to the rays of the sun
if you close your eyes, if you bask in its warmth

You can only surrender to the waves of the sea
if you let yourself float, if you let yourself be

You can only surrender to the breath of the air
if you dare to let its fingers run through your hair

You can only surrender to the crackling fire
if you let go of worries, throw it all in the pyre

You can see inside when you close your eyes tight
you can see outside when you open the inner light
The shutter blinks from the screen playing in the mind
The heart is the flutter that opens the projection’s blind
The scene that plays can be seen from high up above
Are you happy with the picture, are you filling it with love?

Are you ready to surrender, plant your feet upon the earth?
Are you ready to be enveloped by the goodness being birthed?
Are you ready to grow, allow new things to be unearthed?

Can you let the presence of the moment be bestowed?
Can you move your body with the rhythm of the flow?

With all the ups and down, with all the changing tides,
Can you surrender and enjoy the beautiful ride?

Surrender, surrender, surrender some more
Let life come to you, bring surprises, open doors
And while you are the captain of the ship
Will you steer into the storms, let the helm slip
Are you holding on too tightly, scared to let go
or ready for adventure as a no-thing aficionado

Are you open, are you ready to receive?
What will you let in, are you willing to believe?

Open up your arms
turn your chin to the sky
let the wind kiss your face
softly close your eyes
breathe deep, relax your gaze
surrender to the moment
you can let go, you are safe
