Going through tough times sucks, let’s be real, but how many times in life have you really stopped to look back and found that there was a silver lining, a blessing and/or a lesson that actually propelled you into something new in your life beyond what you could have dreamed up for yourself without that contrast?
These mistakes, failures, losses, tough times, however they come through, are not easy and yet is life really supposed to be “easy?” Where do we get the notion that life is supposed to be nothing but rainbows and lollipops, because if this were reality then there could be no triump or victory or climbing mountains or that feeling of exhiliration from doing something hard-scary-new-exciting.
How glorious life is because of all the things we call “negative!” Think of how good it feels to overcome or grow. Do plants not withstand nature’s harsh elements in order to reap the reward that also reveals itself inside the goodness they bring too, like on breezy easy summer days of basking in the sun?
Is it possible to find gratitude for it all? I think so (except when I’m in the tough times of course, then I’m a little less optomistic, haha) but let us all take a moment to remember how far we’ve come in life. Wherever you are right now, you have made it to this point on the journey for a reason and there is no turning back. Is it possible to tell the stories of the past with a silver lining, after all, you’re still standing if you are reading this…..and that certainly is something!
