The alternative health industry, new age spirituality gurus, and cookie cutter coaches following the best formula for optimal financial gain are no different than the allopathic death industry, the dogmatic religious gurus and corporate business realm, because all of it exists on the framework that you must be broken and you “need” what they are selling.
If we create our own reality then would it not make sense that the incessant desire to heal, take another supplement, or another course would perpetuate another cycle of programming with just different labels? Would the always needing to heal not manifest more reasons to heal, more brokenness?
The fact is, you are not broken.
Are you tired of healing? Are you tired of feeling like something is missing from your life? Are you tired of signing up for the next course that has all the fixes?
It’s time to start really living!
All of this is not to say that people shouldn’t work on themselves, that we’re clouded by self-imposed limitations from a lifetime of societal indoctrination and conditioning that seeks to stomp out the human spark, squish the spirit and attempts to abolish the limitless potential and creativity that lives inside us all…as Hu(e)mans, light beings, electrical…magnetic!
So once you wake up from waking up and have gone down a thousand rabbit holes, then what?
Then you realize everything you needed was always with you and you never needed anything else. The road home is one to return to yourself and it is a journey without shortcuts.
Learning to know yourself is to learn to know when enough is enough. It’s knowing when the tool(s) to growth start using you instead of you using them. It’s becoming a discerner of things not only on the outside, but the inside. It’s recognizing that what you are willing to tolerate in others also applies inwardly.
To know thyself is to learn to not see yourself as broken, to know that the body, and life itself, is always healing, always healed. It’s not about lying to yourself about having it all figured out or accepting poor habits and choices as ok, that inverted world of body positivity, political correctness and denial of truth, not that! It’s the shredding of our unhealthy habits, choices, or limiting beliefs and remembering what we’re capable of and who we already are underneath the piles of experiences, social engineering and outer environment muddying our own inner course. Yes, I just said inner-course, the intimacy with self, the conviction of knowing your sovereign soul, the certainty in choosing what is aligned with your dreams, values, principles and charted course.
Take all that energy used to blame the outer world, all the energy used to go down rabbit holes, all the energy bottled up inside from fear of what anyone else thinks, all the energy we let overtake our free-will and turn it around to invite in a practice of self-love, self-cultivation, self-discipline, self-alignment, self-knowing.
Some will say that sounds “selfish” and it is, great observation! Are you here as a self? If you are self-less then are you not denying the wholeness, the fullness of your own existence? It’s funny how words twist so much, yet become the norm. When people say they are self-less I want to pinch them and say, wait, are you a ghost? I see a self in front of me (haha).
Selfish is not bad because the deeper you know yourself the deeper you can show up and meet others beyond the layers of superficiality, the greater your connection to Source can be and the more you can give from a full-cup…and say yes to what you KNOW is for you and NO to what you know is not for your highest and best self, the next best version or that which brings excitement in how you show up each and every day!
The world wants us broken because that’s profitable!
What if everything that happened to us was healing, strengthening and revealing our true nature? What if we don’t need endless self-help courses, books, gurus, healers, etc.? What if what we perceive is broken is simply feedback bringing awareness to something awesome yet to be discovered about ourselves?
Of course there are times we all get off course and need a guide, need some help, but if that guide is not helping you get back to YOURSELF, to the root, to the core, then you don’t need them. If that guide is not helping you find the power within yourself, then what did you sign up for really? Can you embrace the symptoms of life that inevitably will show up without trying to “remedy” them? Can you get to the root by suppressing the language it manifest in our body, mind, soul evolutions, experiences, communication, expression?
The only guarantee in life is that there is no guarantee. There is only us waking up each day and experiencing the consequences of our choices….so what are you going to choose? What are you tolerating in yourself and others? How can you show up differently TODAY?
If you want to make the world a better place, you have to create it within yourself, within your environment and within whomever and whatever you let in your life, your “field of dreams.”
So get up and move your body, still the mind, feel the heart, connect the dots, cultivate your creativity, do what enlivens your spirit and brings joy to your soul. What feels exciting is an invitation to becoming the next best version of you, the you that awakes anew each day…Groundhog Day and yet anything but Groundhog Day. Those little pulls into the unknown, those little pushes of excitement to doing something new.
The paradox lives in the ability to find the silver lining, the making lemonade out of lemons. The paradox lives in the dance between routine and spontaneity, between knowing you are already perfect and yet striving for excellence. The paradox is you floating in the current-sea, swimming with the tide or picking up the oars and forming a new path, untrodden and in need of clearing.
The man in the mirror is not you, it is your shadow, it’s an invitation to paint a new picture while accepting what stands before you. The mirror is always reversed, it never tells the whole truth, only a fragment, only a version that lives in a single moment of projection. It’s a screen that lies in the same way fantasies play out in the black mirrors society consults daily.
What is being reflected back that you don’t want to see and how can you find new eyes to project your own image more authentically, while knowing you already have all that you need inside of you now, always now.
Choose your partners, helpers, guides, teachers, coaches wisely because you are not broken and if they are not assisting you back into your own inner knowing, then do you really need what they are selling, giving, reflecting?
It’s a battlefield for the mind, attention, energy, currency out there but the more we focus on all that we need to heal, the more things arise that need to be healed…the ultimate law of attraction prank, the trickster in the mirror that can’t see the mirror was never broken. The delusion of mirrors that pretend to be windows.
The jesters are everywhere, let us not become one amongst many, let us not wear the mask of fools and manifest a life un-lived because so much time was wasted “healing” in another cycle with no return.
If you want to see clearly, you need not clean the mirror, nor glue together its broken fragements, but simply open your eyes to the beauty of life and gaze into the eyes of that which your heart loves.
“I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could've been any clearer
If they wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make a change”
