I used to live in the city and sit behind my desk all day...
Then one day I realized I was killing myself...
I thought going on mid day walks or weekly hikes was "enough" connection to nature...
But I was only greeting the natural world with a superficial hello...
So I decided to Up-Root my life and move to the country...
And it's been incredibly difficult, yet the most rewarding adventure...
And I re-connected to the elements that impact our lives daily....
Not in a way that felt far away, but in an up close and personal face-to-face...
And I was reminded that life, no matter where you are seated...
Is an opportunity to get to know yourself through continuously trying new things...
While simultaneously learning to become the master of your own domain...
And this means hard days, it means there's no time off even when it rains...
Not time off from work, but from excuses that pull us from stewardship to something other than ourselves...
And to live curiously....like in this silly video I made...
Where I was checking on 2 of my roosters...
I picked them up (they love being held)...then I thought, what would happen if I danced around? What would happen if I pretended they were little rooster shaped weights and I got in a few squats? How would they react if I sing...if I scream?
You see, life reacts to you based upon how you interact with it?
And the closer you get to nature, the more it reveals to you, the more it sees you as a trusted friend...
The more it shows you how you are part of it...
And that truth runs through the metaphysical and the physical aspect of being...
For rising with the sun and gazing into its morning spectrum of light actually helps heal you...
expand consciousness...and discern the world around you...
Because roosters are not just an animal that protects their flock...
They are wisdom teachers showing you how to live by the cosmic clock...
Tick Tock, the world makes you forget what time it is...
That the greatest connection to login to is not the wifi...
So if you are sitting at your desk right now, look outside the window...
Then maybe consider going outside and looking through the window from the outside in...
And ask yourself, what do I see? Seriously, what is the scene when you see it with new eyes...when you look back onto yourself?
And maybe, just maybe, you can find a few moments to get inspired...
By the grass and the trees, or in my case, my Roosaronies!
Enjoy your day...find a moment to play with the elements of nature...put on your curious hat and see how things shift?
And if you need to work at the computer, try taking it to the porch?
Remember, falling in love with the life you are creating is a process that happens slowly until one day you realize you have fallen out of love with the old one and something entirely different has come into fruition beyond what you imagined…
And know, this too may change…
again and again and again….
Until then,
Cockadoodledoooooooooooo it!

P.S. I know, another bird post, but can there ever be too many posts about birds or cats? I think not.

I'm so glad your now living your best life with your handsome boys!! They are sooo cute!! Thanks for including pics and video footage!!
What an awesome adventure your having!! Nothing beats leaving the city far behind in the dust and exchanging it for country air!! 🥰
Love those handsome boys… and yes, l so relate to getting out of the city. Being on my own, out in a small country town was just how it was meant to be, and losing John was part of a plan bigger than me, the human aspect of an expansive soul. So, l feel blessed to also be collaborating with nature, and l love being alone more and more. And she gets me to my senses, with hers, when she needs to 🤣🌊🏕️Your link about resilience and curiosity resonates, as creators, curiosity is central to our engagement with our surrounds. Thanks for sharing your freedom of being. 🙏😊🐓
